We currently have 2 herdsires, Bauernheim's Sogno, and Stargazer's Valentino, shown here with his new summer haircut. Spring of 2006 produced two Sogno babies and one Springer baby, all of which quickly sold.  We've also added a new junior herdsire to be, Ledgestone's Cool Hand Luke. In this picture taken May of '06, he's only 1 year old, but we're excited over his future work at our farm.  He's shown in the link with his new summer hairdo, and I promise he's not a poodle! I'll include more about his credentials below.

Sogno placed 6th in the Top Ten at the Celebrity World Futurity in Oklahoma City, April 2001. He was up against some tough competition from all over the country!

Sogno's first show was the 2000 LOWS NW Llama Classic Double Point Show in Washington state, where he placed 2nd and 5th (out of 15) in the dual judging system.

Then he took 4th (out of 14) at the 2000 Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival, Canby, Oregon.

January 2001, I took Sogno to the Ft. Worth Show. He was entered in the Heavy Wool Yearling class with 20 entries from excellent ranches. He took 4th place and the judge called him a stylish young male. Then Maggie Schuler took Sogno, along with two young females she brought, in the Get of Sire class for Merit. They were up against 13 other groups and took first place!

February 2001, I showed Sogno at the San Antonio Stock Show and he took 1st Place Heavy Wool Yearling Male!

March 2001, we went to the San Angelo, Texas show and he took 2nd in a high quality class of 9. This show has grown each year since it's inception and had 218 llamas that Spring.

September 2001, Sogno capped his show career at the Dallas Stock Show with 1st Place Heavy Wool 2 Year Old Male!

Needless to say, we're thrilled with Sogno. His sire, Merit, is the only male in the U.S. to win the llama equivalent to the triple crown - The Celebrity World Futurity, The ALSA Western Regionals, and The ALSA Grand National - all in the same year! Sogno's dam, Rammas Last Hurrah, is a multiple Grand Champion too!

Sogno has a very pleasing and calm personality, and wonderfully soft fiber. In August of 2002 Sogno's fleece was entered in single fiber, over 18 months, and won Grand Champion Single Coat, and Best of Show, over 25 other fleeces. He actually gave me 2.5 pounds of fiber.

Some of Sogno's offspring are featured on our Previously Sold and Cria pages linked above.

Stargazer's Valentino ILR# 251902

Hard Rock's Living La Vida Loca x Amanda De Pecos

Valentino came to us from Stargazer Farm Llamas in nearby HelotesHe has that calm personality that's so valuable here at High Acres Llamas.  He has already won in the showring in the mom and cria class in San Antonio and also Austin. His sire, Vida has won multiple "Get of Sire" awards in the showring.

Valentino settled his first females for Spring of 2007 crias. The first one arrived Feb. 6, '07 and two more are due here at this ranch and several more are due at other farms. You can see his offspring at this ranch on the cria page.

Our new junior herdsire Ledgestone's Cool Hand Luke was named that because of his Cool and calm personality. His sire, The Blitz, an appaloosa owned by Berry-Patch Llamas and Foggy Acres Llamas is a multiple showring winner.  His dam, GLR Bridgette, owned by Danny Keller was sired by Peruvian Bardo, who's also produced many showring winners. We look forward to future crias by this guy! You can't tell in the photo very well, but he's actually an appaloosa.
